MORE THAN A SUMMER CAMP

Challenge Yourself & Develop Life Skills

Transform your life through adventure and personal growth in Hokkaido's breathtaking landscapes. Our expert guides will lead you through thrilling experiences that push your boundaries and foster new life skills. Embrace the wild beauty of Hokkaido and discover invaluable lessons that will stay with you for a lifetime.

IWANAI

Our adventures encompass the Niseko-Shakotan National Park and greater South Western Hokkaido. Established in 1963, this national park is the collection of the Raiden Mountain Range, the Niseko Volcanic Group, Shakotan Peninsula and Marine Preserve. Our program utilizes these pristine landscapes on foot, by bike and sea kayak.  The preservation and upkeep of the wilderness is the mark of every adventure.

CAMP FOOD

Preparing delicious and locally sourced meals in the wild will surely be the highlight your adventure. We create lasting memories with each meal. This approach to food preparation means that our older students will learn to depend on each other, as participants will take turns preparing meals.

No student will go hungry, as we are happy to cater our menu to meet your dietary needs.

WE ACTUALLY CAMP

Leaving behind the luxuries of home and sharing a tent with your new coursemates is a fundamental component of the Iwanai Onward experience. Using our ski lodge as a base camp, our program makes use of a nearby public campsite.

Follow our packing instructions closely as you learn what is essential for spending the night under the stars.

AN ENGLISH SANCTUARY

All of our courses are administered in English, providing non-native speakers with a secondary educational opportunity and native speakers with a language sanctuary. In pursuit of pushing boundaries, we accept students with all levels of English ability. Our staff are fully committed to supporting these students who have taken on this additional challenge.

GETTING HERE

IIwanai is approximately 2 hours from Sapporo and about 2.5 hours from Sapporo New Chitose Airport. We encourage participants to make their own way to Iwanai, as navigating is a valuable skill to develop. For those traveling from other parts of Japan or from abroad, we can arrange a group pick-up from the airport on the morning of your first day. Please contact us for more information.
