ABOUT
Discover our powder-filled mountain, offering open bowls, old-growth tree glades, and retired courses with consistent 20-40° pitches. Guests typically enjoy 4,700 vertical meters of pristine powder daily, with a thrilling 690-meter vertical descent from the highest drop at 890 meters. Terrain and vertical can vary based on weather, avalanche risks, and skill levels, but our experienced guides tailor the experience to your group.
Pause to savor the soothing sound of ocean waves drifting through the valleys as you descend.
A TYPICAL DAY
Your Iwanai Experience begins at 8:30 AM on the 2nd floor of our lodge, where you'll be welcomed with coffee or tea and introduced to your guides. After a quick safety briefing and getting your boots on, we aim to depart by 9:00 AM. The morning will be spent exploring a variety of terrain, from former course runs to peaceful glades and steep bowls. Enjoy hot coffee and homemade treats on the CAT as you take in the breathtaking scenery.
At lunchtime, we’ll return to the lodge to enjoy a meal at Three Birds Restaurant, offering both Japanese and Western dishes. In the afternoon, you’ll continue exploring more of the mountain before returning to the lodge around 3:30 PM. After an adventurous day, relax with drinks by the fire, light bites, or pick up a famous hoodie as a souvenir before you head out.
TRANSPORTATION
For the best Iwanai experience, we recommend driving yourself. This gives you the freedom to explore at your own pace, enjoy local hot springs, and relax in our lounge.
Our courtesy shuttle offers morning pick-up and evening drop-off from Kutchan, Hanazono, Hirafu, and Niseko. Please confirm your pick-up location at least three days in advance, as we cannot accommodate last-minute changes. The shuttle is shared and will make multiple stops. For more privacy or flexibility, we suggest arranging your own transportation. If you need to return to Niseko quickly after skiing, we recommend not using the shuttle, as it operates on a group schedule and delays are inevitable.
APRÈS
Après typically begins at 3:30 as you make your way off the mountain. Enjoy freshly prepared appetizers, warm up with some sake, or sip a frothy Sapporo. As the music picks up, challenge someone to a game of pool or sample a selection of local Japanese whiskies. Don’t forget to grab that swag you’ve had your eye on all day.
For guests staying on the mountain, feel free to stay as long as you like. However, for day-trippers, please note that the party may end earlier if shuttle participants need to return to Niseko.
