Iwanai Resort offers a variety of tours to help you explore our area. Mix and match activities to suit your interest. Spend the entire day on one activity or choose two: morning and afternoon. We’ll provide transfers, instruction, equipment, and fresh meals.

Coastal Hokkaido feels like time might have passed it by. But the culture is alive and well. We have a variety of tours to show you the real Japan. Here you can see traditional 250-year old festivals or join our Iwanai City Bike Tour. Try our various cultural art tours, such as kimono and tea ceremony. Or try our Coastal Village tour along the Shakotan Peninsula.

Farmer’s Life

Ever wonder what it’s like to work on a farm? Here’s your chance to get your hands dirty. You’ll learn about the process of farming, local varieties of vegetables and techniques that will expand your growing knowledge. At lunch, you’ll experience home-made Japanese cuisine with a meal straight off the farm.

Sea Kayak Tour

Enjoy Hokkaido’s best season…summer! The Sea of Japan around Iwanai offers incredible sights: blue-green water, abundant marine life, waterfalls and steep cliff faces plunging into the ocean. The best way to explore this world is by sea kayak. Our two-seat kayaks are stable and easy to control. Children and families are welcome.

Sailing

Located at the gateway of the Shakotan Peninsula, Iwanai harbor is the perfect place to set sail on the Sea of Japan. Our rugged Hokkaido coastline is blessed with bountiful nature and marine life. Lear the local history, pick up some basic sailing skills and enjoy the stunning views of Iwanai and the Shakotan Peninsula.

Horseback Riding

Hokkaido is the horse breeding capital of Japan. Long lush mountain ranges provide fine riding trails. Let’s get you saddles up and learn how to safely ride a horse. Experienced instructors will teach you the art of riding and help you on the trail. With many horses to choose from, we’ll find the right one for you. Beginner thru expert riders can enjoy our area on horseback.

Canyoning and Hiking

The Iwanai Range offers numerous hiking and canyoning trails. Depending on one’s will, the entire range takes 6hrs to hike. But shorter, less strenuous hikes are also available. Canyoning on Mount Raiden is an unforgettable experience. Starting at a hidden waterfall, you’ll work your way up into the canyon to explore deep pools and waterfalls fed by wild hot spring water. All our hiking tours are designed with the appropriate level of stamina for you.
